In the States, we have gone from Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and as long as you were not depriving someone else of their rights to the same, all was good.
Then we moved to you have those rights so long as they don’t affect someone else’s rights.
You used to have a right to choose to wear a seat belt or not weighing the odds of dying because of wearing one or living because of it. However, because it was determined that this affected everyone’s insurance costs. You lost that Right to Life decision. Strangely enough, the insurance rates did not go down in one state that passed these laws based on that excuse.
Now we are in the… You have rights so long as you don’t offend someone phase.
REALLY???? Who on earth thinks this is an obtainable goal. I mean to choose to live your own life that way, OK. To pass laws that Govern that way is a far cry from Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
People every day are offended by odors, sights, sounds, and that’s before we even get to peoples behaviors. Case in point: I was watching a YouTube video and they were going to discuss something and said not to worry it was a “safe space”. I got immediately offended and clicked to another video. I didn’t write to YouTube, start an SJW Social Media campaign to have the video banned, because I was offended.
Once you see that it’s impossible to create a world where no one is ever going to be offended. It might be better to go back look at how we should react to things and people that offend us. It’s our own behavior we have the most control over.
